Rachel Emily Leaping over a bollard into 2020 - Rachel Emily Blog

Leaping into the new year.
A whole new decade.
Enter the (hopefully) roaring twenty's.

It's 2020 and I can officially say that I graduate this year and will be turning 30 next year!

With the new decade though I've decided that I'm no longer going to have resolutions. Just one mindset for the year ahead.

You know as they say resolutions go in one year and out the other.

This year's mindset is simply. To Grow.

Why growth? Well to be honest, I've grown so much over 2019 without even realising. Learning from my mistakes. Learning from the mistakes of others. Learning from the world around me. It kinda makes sense as by this time next year I will have grown as a person. It's the most positive way to start the year, because I actually can't fail.

There are certain areas that I'm going to try and focus my growth, which are;

Strength & Knowledge

I want to feel physically and mentally stronger by the end of the year. This will not only help my health but will help progress my ballet.

I also want to expand and grow my knowledge. As I mentioned above, I will graduate this year, but first I have to complete my dissertation. I want to continue learning Spanish. I want to educate myself better in ways to be more sustainable. I want to learn more about myself.

I've got a nice new Bullet Journal that's improved and, hopefully, more functional than last years, to help me track any progress, stats and thoughts along the way. Although I need to make a few more pages (read: February to December!).

Looking ahead to what's to come in 2020 I already have so many amazing things planned.
I already have two trips abroad booked; Iceland & Paris. Plus there is talk of at least two more.
We have three weddings in the calendar; February; May and June.
I have three concerts tickets booked; The Killers; Taylor Swift and Michael Buble.
My ballet show is coming up later this month.
I graduate - have I mentioned this yet?

And all of the above only takes me to July.

So here's to the roaring twenties and growth.

What are your resolutions/goals/mindsets or just thoughts on the new year ahead and new decade? Let me know in the comments.
