Recipe | Chia Berry Breakfast Smoothie Bowl

Chia Berry smoothie with flowers and spoon in flat lay

It's bank holiday weekend and it's more than likely raining where you are, I know it is here but despite appearances summer is on the way. For me that means shedding a few of the winter hibernation layers ready for the sun's rays.

Back in January 2017 I wrote a post on how to kick start your day where one of the key ways to get your day going great was breakfast. Now I've been playing around with a few smoothie recipe's since I got my own Nutribullet and thought I'd share one of my favourites which gives me the energy I need in the morning to stay motivated to get to the gym, or work, or just to get the laundry done.

Method

1. Place the milk, banana, strawberries, chia seeds, yoghurt, protein powder and 1 teaspoon of honey into your blender and blitz until smooth.
2. Pour into a bowl and leave to set overnight
3. In the morning, simply drizzle with the spare teaspoon of honey, sprinkle on the oats and add your preferred toppings and you're good to go.

My personal preference for toppings is extra chia seeds, coconut flakes and goji berries. You could add mint, banana, raspberries, flax seeds, pumpkin seeds,

Over the next couple of weeks I'll be sharing some of my favourite recipes for snacks and meals so make sure to follow me on Bloglovin'InstagramTwitterFacebook and Pinterest to stay up to date.
