5 Amazing Uses for Coconut Oil

Morning All, I hope you're all doing well. I'm probably currently asleep stinking of dirt in a really muddy field as I wrote this before I went to Glastonbury. But it's okay because when I get back it gives me a massive excuse to pamper myself and coconut oil will 100% be part of this.

So a little while ago I mentioned coconut oil in my spring beauty essentials post and as it's such a great multi-purpose product I thought it was worthy of it's own post. I would go as far as saying that I would happily put it everywhere and anywhere but I don't want you to get the wrong impression of me. So here are my 5 top uses for Coconut Oil:

5 Amazing Uses for Coconut Oil

Moisturiser

This use is probably the most obvious but it's the greatest use as coconut oil can be applied all over your body. It's amazing post-shaving and can also help to minimise scars, stretch marks and cellulite. I also use it as a cuticle oil and lip balm too.

Hair Treatment/Mask

I love this product as a hair mask. Once a week I apply the coconut oil generously to my hair when dry then wrap in cling film for 20 or so minutes. Then I hop in the shower and rinse off and shampoo and condition my hair as normal. The coconut oil helps my hair feel softer and look smoother and shinier.

Make Up Remover

Now I do prefer to use Micellar Water but if I ever run out and can't get to the shops I very happily use coconut oil to remove my make up. I find it removes eye make up easily and leaves skin feeling soft and hydrated after.

Cooking

Many health bloggers and chefs have been raving about coconut oil for a long time. It's great for frying and is full of healthy "good" saturated fats. It also tastes amazing so it's not like you're sacrificing taste for health.

Brush Cleaner

Make up brushes are known to carry loads of bacteria if not cleaned regularly. Coconut oil is a great product to help cleanse and pamper your brushes. Massage the oil into the brushes and leave for 1-2 hours to really soak into the brushes. Then wash throughly until the water runs clean then dry as normal. Unlike some other brush cleaners, if any is left on your brushes it won't harm your face or make up.

Do you use coconut oil? What is your favourite use for it?
