Lifestyle | Best Buys for Throwing A Royal Wedding Party

Primark peg board with union jack bunting, flags and glasses flat lay with eucalyptus

If you follow me on Insta-stories then you will know how much I love the royals. It's something I've inherited from my mum and grandmother with pride. When there's a new royal baby I have Kensington Palace's twitter on full notifications and it's on my bucket list to one day meet a royal.

When the announcement came about the wedding of Harry & Meghan I was over the moon. There's nothing to lift the nation's spirits like a Royal Wedding and it's coming a mere weeks after the birth of Prince Louis. This wedding feels different though. It will be less traditional royal wedding and more modern which I am super excited to see.

Obviously I'm throwing a little Royal Wedding party with lots of prosecco so with the wedding of Harry & Meghan in a few weeks away - Saturday 19th May for those who don't know - I thought I'd share some of my top buys to help you throw a brilliant Royal Wedding party.

Bunting

I mean bunting is like a British tradition isn't it? I got 7m of bunting from Amazon - here -  ridiculously cheap.

Hand Waving Flags

Again another purchase from Amazon - here - but I mean less than a fiver for 6x hand waving flags - why not?

Tissue Pom Poms

Tissue pom poms make a great party decor addition. They come flat packed and are super easy to fluff up into their full pom pom. I ordered mine from eBay where you can choose from what feels like 50+ colours and the sizes of each. Add your choices to basket and check out - shop them here.

Balloons

Every party needs balloons. These beauty's from Ginger Ray - here - come in red, blue and gold confetti. Also if you don't want to shop online then check your local New Look store as this is where I first discovered Ginger Ray for party supplies.

Napkins

I mean what wedding isn't complete without cake? and when serving cake napkins are a must. Royal wedding cake - union jack napkins - shop them here.

Novelty Fun

Okay, so I look a little bit like Timmy Mallet in the union jack glasses but they are really good fun. I can't wait to see my 91 year old gran in these. Probably over her normal glasses too. Shop them here

If not you can pick up a full set of 7 Royal family masks for just over a fiver - here

New Look also have some Royal Wedding themed socks which I got 3 for £5, just because I could really:

The Guest of Honor Themselves

Well not really themselves, but a life-sized cardboard version of the duo if you're feeling particularly flush at around £40 - shop it here. You can do selfies galore with the happy couple and be the envy of everyone on instagram.

If you fancy splashing the cash then the official Royal Wedding memorobilla collection is available - here

Cath Kidston have also done a range which you can shop - here

I've also heard a sneaky rumour that Aldi did something for William and Kate and are likely to for Harrry and Meghan this year so watch those special buys, the rumour mill suggests they will be online for pre-order on 13th May and in stores on the 17th.

Are you throwing a royal wedding party? I'd love to know, and see your pics. Make sure to follow me on Instagram to see how my small celebration go's and whether I get some selfies with the happy cardboard couple themselves.
