The Autumn Winter Pieces I'm Adding to my Wardrobe Now

So, I hate to say it but summer is coming to an end.

As a summer person I struggle with this concept but it's only 15 more Wednesday's until Christmas.

Yes, I just said the C word too.

Normally in a reluctance to accept the changing seasons I typically refuse to buy autumn winter clothes or get mine out of the attic until it's too late. The pieces I loved all go out of stock and I end up accessorising with goosebumps out of my sheer stubborn determination that summer is still here. This year I'm trying to change. Well just a little.

So here are my favourite trends/pieces that I'm buying at the moment ready for the new season ahead.

The Shacket

Before this year I had never owned a shacket. Now I own two.
Talk about 0-60 pretty quick. I even bought them on the same day within about 15 minutes of each other.
They are light enough to throw over your shoulders at the moment with nice dress and shorts to keep you warm now that the evenings are getting darker and chillier but they're also enough to keep you warm on brisk cold autumn days when it's still not quite cold enough for a full-blown coat.

Here are some of my favourites:

"Leather"

So it's leather and leather imitation that is a great transitional piece. It brings a certain edge to a look and definitely feels more autumnal. My favourite way to wear it is through a trouser but skirts are coming through this season and I'm very tempted to step out of my comfort zone and at least try one.
My leather leggings in these photos are old from Topshop but they've just re-released them. They're fleece lined which will see you right through to winter.

Co-Ord and Cropped Knits

Now, I'm still a little unsure on this. But I'm trying to at least 'try' things before I completely write them off. I wrote off cycle shorts at first but now I'm a firm lover of them.

I'm thinking cosy crops with high waisted jeans and trousers or comfy joggers for those lazy days.
Plus there is something charming about a co-ord knit top and cardigan.

Here are my favourites. I'm particularly obsessed with the woven beige Topshop one.

Chunky Boots

Again, a trend I've previous stayed away from. I always had a complex that I couldn't wear chunky boots because they looked odd with my ankles. I'm trying to overcome this!
